Education is a right of every child and many peoples spoke up on this matter like Malala Yousafzai, she spoke especially of girls education and let me remind you in the past she also worked with UNO. Obviously, education is one of the 7 fundamental rights in India and we always used to hear from our parents that studying is the only thing which is going to help us to stand on our own feet. It is also used to believe that students are the future of our country. But nowadays many teenagers especially students indulging in the bad habit of drinking and smoking and making a new friend called nicotine, which is increasing at a tremendous rate & they were losing the great of an opportunity of education by themselves. We know a person namely Nicotine, he is so good in a relationship that he will stand by your side even on your days of the deathbed. According to Clive Bates, Director of Action on Smoking and Health(ASH) on said: “On average a 20-a-day smoker is losing one day of life for every week of smoking.”(quite astonishing). The first hint of nicotine’s curious benefits came from a study published in 1966 by Harold Kahn, an epidemiologist at the National Institutes of Health. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical found in the tobacco plant. Each day in U.S. 3200 teens aged 18 years smoke their first cigarette and an additional 2100 youth who have been occasional smokers become daily cigarette smokers.So, it is quite digestible that in a break of 15 minutes it is a lot easier to lit up a cigarette than making a drink(puff, puff, ahh) & in U.S. one-third of the cancer is caused only by tobacco.

There is a popular saying of Mark Twain,”Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world I know because I’ve done thousands of times.” Now you can think how much nicotine is addictive. Nicotine addiction is also behavioural. People become dependent on actions involved with using tobacco. Nicotine is primarily consumed by inhaling the smoke of tobacco cigarettes. Other ways to smoke tobacco include pipes and cigars. Smokeless tobacco is inhaled through the nose as a powder or held in the mouth. Nicotine? Yes, nicotine. Tobacco is dangerous.

However, cigarettes are harmful and addictive as much as drugs and heroin because of the presence of nicotine. Alcohol consumption is also life-threatening because there are nicotine presents too but a comparison of which is more hazardous is totally impossible because consumption pattern is not similar to every individual some people consume occasionally whereas some people make it a part of daily routine. The effects of nicotine are mammoth. Drinking not only leads to chronic liver inflammation and cirrhosis but also affect the brain(smoking also). Cigarettes usually contain about 10 mg of nicotine. In spite of what preceded, nicotine also activates areas of the brain that are involved in producing feelings of pleasure and reward. Dopamine, which is sometimes called the pleasure molecule, is the same neurotransmitter that is involved in addictions to other drugs such as cocaine and heroin. Researchers now believe that this change in dopamine may play a key role in all addictions.

Not only the brain but nicotine also affects the heart in a terrific manner. When you smoke a cigarette, nicotine passes through the lung’s membranes and into the bloodstream. After it reaches the bloodstream, the nicotine makes its way to your heart. There, it’s transferred to your arteries, and up to your brain. This whole process takes between 10 and 20 seconds, and it’s one of the reasons why you get so much nicotine so quickly from smoking. Though, nicotine also suppresses heartbeat rate and result in slowing down the blood pumping which significantly affects the blood pressure. Preliminary studies suggest nicotine might do direct damage to heart cells, so heart patients should avoid smoking traditional tobacco products completely.

On the other hand woman’s body are more likely to consume alcohol and need longer time to process a significantly shows liver damage more quickly than men.The biggest myth dyed our head is “Smoking is a stress reliever” after all nicotine plays the main role and reaches to brain in 8 seconds after a puff and start performing in the job so, brain develops extra nicotine to accommodate large dose of nicotine and when brain stops getting nicotine it’s used to start craving for it and then one can feel anxious, angry, irritable. Many teenagers start smoking & drinking due to relationship breakups, family problems, stress, study pressure or falling in bad friendship aura and some starts only for fun. But they live in the misconception that they can quit whenever they want but nicotine is such a nice friend that he doesn’t let you break the friendship because you need him too.

After reading all these if you don’t find any obvious reason(possible) to quit then,listen the effect of alcohol consumption may be reverted up to some extent by medicine, consulting a doctor or by regular workout but the effects of smoking is irreversible it means you have to live whole life with that wrecked part of your chest(so sad).
Your body is the only place where your soul lives till the last breath so, don’t ruin it unnecessarily. Stopping smoking, no matter how long you have smoked, can greatly benefit your health. Now decide yourself whether you want to live the whole life with your friend nicotine or with someone else. Live for your father and mother or at least for yourself. You are the dictator of your own soul so make sure you lead yourself in the right direction because no one is going to do that for you.
